SWIF, as you know, stands for South West Independent Film, and is a weekly round-up, update, and info pot of goodness for indie peeps. It’s steered by filmmaker Holly Holdsworth, whose Fathom you can watch online (and read about in the pages of D&CFilm).

The screening, takes place on Thursday 27 August at St Anne’s House, Bristol.

“We prioritised films which were early in their journey with audiences or were still grassroots and hadn’t had wide exposure,” Holly told D&CFilm.

Hullo...

Thank you for reading. We could do with your help to keep going. All our content is free... But if you can, you can support us to continue bringing you this coverage, these articles, interviews and reviews. This connection with real indie filmmakers.

It's here we encourage you to get out, watch indie films, support crowdfunders, go to your local venue.

And if you can, Pay What You Can to keep all this going. From £1 a week - £4 a month - a fiver, or whatever you can spare. Much appreciated.

“It was vital to us that we only screened work where the filmmaker teams could join us on the night, talk about their work and intentions, as direct connection with an audience is a big pillar of both SWIF and St Anne’s House’s values.”

One of the films on show will be Sword and Fiddle’s Booted, a film built on South West collaboration and is a creative, evocative and touching story.

“Alyn’s going up to take the introduce the film and take questions after they’ve all been shown,” said Sword and Fiddle.

Creating, watching, sharing the film experience is key to building that kinds of experience that dreams are made of… but that’s why you’re here, right?

Catch Booted and a host of South West films with the filmmakers at Homegrown Cinema Showcase on Thursday 27 August. Get your tickets.

Pay What You Can.
We run on fumes and caffeine. Show your support for our coverage. Make it regular. Or as a thank you :)
