We Animate on Tues | animation gatherings build and deepen creative community
We Animate On Tues are new events set up to encourage animation all week, month, year round. It also brings animators together for a skill swapping, show sharing, community building bundle of relaxed expertise.
The first event has already taken place at Leadworks in Plymouth – with the next one on Tue 12 August, with more on the way, and the first to take place in Exeter at the Exeter Phoenix on Tue 9 September.
Creative community
The gathering is designed to bring creatives together from all areas of Devon to form a proactive and supportive community made up of professionals, businesses and graduates/ students who primarily work within the animation arts and media.
The events will allow people the chance to share work, form collaborations, share opportunities and hopefully generate a strong creative community in Devon.
Support
It is organised by Daniel Willers of Yellow Mouse Studio. Yellow Mouse have always been big on supporting up-and-coming as well as established talent.
And Dan plans to draw on his contacts from all over the UK who have worked in the TV, film and animation industry to give talks and share much needed advice to the graduates and students.

He will be sharing information and important developments from his dealings with organisations such as The Royal Television Society, Devon Chamber of Commerce and ScreenDevon.
“Building a strong animation /creative community here in Devon will allow us to set other initiatives in place which will benefit the community, county and its businesses,” Dan told D&CFilm. “It will also highlight how important the creative sector here in Devon is to the local and national economy.”
No fees
There are no fees to the people who are coming to the events, regardless of whether they are professionals, a business or a student.
“This is about community and positive action for the greater good,” said Dan.
