An Baner | A medieval Cornish language short film
The Flag (An Baner) is a micro short film told in the Cornish language (Kernewek), following a lone knight in the haunting stillness after defeat in battle. ‘When the battle ends, the real story begins,’ says the tagline.
With his comrades slain and their banner fallen in the mud, he begins a journey – not to win the war, but to save what remains. An Baner is the next short film from producer of The Lost Helm and is looking for your support!

Every penny helps, they say, so, whether you’re passionate about indie cinema, minority languages, or mythic storytelling, they need you to help bring this film to life.
“We know times are tough and money is tight, but every pledge, share, word of support brings us one step closer to making this unique film a reality,” say the filmmakers.
The Flag is a short film from Henry Austwick, the man behind Swashbuckling Cornwall. It is a passion project with many people giving their time, skills and expertise for free. The crew combines both professional with experience and newcomers to the filmmaking world. Creating a great melting pot for skills exchange and idea sharing.
Henry’s last film – The Lost Helm, a fairytale story about two peasants who find a knight’s lost helmet, is currently on the festival circuit and has already begun to collect laurels.
There are a range of rewards on offer for those who can donate. Each has a Knightly theme from The Page for £5, but to The Duke for £100. Find out more about the project on Crowdfunder
