eXeFilm | new indie film distributor

A new film distribution company is launching in Exeter. Fuelled by a passion for indie cinema, eXeFilm has grown out of a team from the University of Exeter.
eXeFilm is committed to bringing global and high-end content to audiences worldwide, with an eye to curate a selection of high-quality art house films ‘that captivate and inspire’.
“We hail from various backgrounds around the globe and share a passion for independent cinema,” eXeFilm told D&CFilm.
First up will be Romeo n Juliet 4EVA , on 13 June, which promises to be a new radical new modern take on a classic story. It’s also one of the rare feature films produced in Jamaica, Romeo n Juliet 4EVA is directed and produced by Paul Bucknor (The FullMonty and Better Mus Come). The joyous, dynamic adaptation of the classic play is set in modern-day Kingston.
The feature film project originated from a TV competition for high schools to adapt a Shakespeare play for the stage, with the winner – Hailie Selassie High School, chosen to have their production adapted for the big screen.
As a nod to their Exeter roots, they are also curating short films on their official Youtube channel. These short films are from South West England filmmakers and University of Exeter graduates.
The films on their roster are hand selected by our team and represent the diverse, thoughtful and meaningful work from this region.
