The Exeter Phoenix is offering over £15,000 of support in artist fees and equipment hire will be made available to filmmakers and moving image artists at all levels, to create 8 short films.
The Exeter Phoenix is taking a new approach to its commission schemes and has launched a brand new range of categories for 2016.
The opportunities are exclusively for Devon residents -students can apply.
With a broader range of categories, the Exeter Phoenix aims to develop moving image creativity in the South West by supporting fresh talent and offering new opportunities to more established filmmakers.
But don’t dilly dally, the closing date is Monday, February 29, 2016.
The new categories still open are:
Microfilm Commission: Concise, innovative stories developed for screen through brave and lustrous filmmaking. Maximum length 3 mins
Raw Film Commission: Developing Devon’s most promising young filmmaking talent. Applicants aged between 16 and 24 years may apply.
The Devon Short Film Commission: A short film based on an original idea. Two edits will be created through the commission, at 12 mins and 3 mins.
Artists Moving Image Commission: A new moving image based artwork for screen, installation or online display.
Exeter Phoenix commissions have a track-record of providing support for filmmakers to create entertaining and engaging work, and plenty of recipients have gone on to further their filmmaking careers.
