A free online course will teach you how to make no-budget visual effects, and help you take your filmmaking to a new level.
The course is from Norwich University of the Arts and is being offered through FutureLearn as one of its Moocs (that’s Massive Open Online Course, granddad!).
The free course takes four weeks and calls for around three-hours per week of your time, for which you’ll learn all about an introduction of VFX (that’s visual effects, grandma!)
“Over four weeks, we’ll supply free software, and show you tips and techniques in a non-technical way,” says the blurb.
“Each week, we’ll uncover techniques like effective green screen, motion tracking and colour grading. It’s a practical course, designed for the non-professional, which will enable you to try out your own effects with our sample footage or your own.”
This course is for everyone who wants to understand the role of VFX in film and how they can bring a story to life. It will be particularly relevant to amateur and no-budget filmmakers who are looking to expand their storytelling skills with VFX.
The course starts on February 8, 2016. But what’s stopping you, pop over to FutureLearn and sign up today.
