In its eighth year, one of the clearest outcomes of the Exeter Phoenix’s 48 Hour Film Challenge is the amount of fun the teams get out of. We reckon it’s down to the creative challenge combined with the bond of getting something done in a short timescale coupled with the thrill of seeing your handiwork on the big screen.
And then there’s the filmmaking bug. Some who take part go on to become key players in the local filmmaking scene, and some just do it for the creative challenge.
Either way the 48 Hour Film Challenge offers a superb insight into filmmaking and your own creative process, and it just seem to go from strength to strength.
Here’s how it works, taken straight from the Exeter Phoenix:
Teams are invited to the Challenge launch at 6pm on Fri 6 Nov where they will be presented with a theme, a prop and a line of text, all of which must be included in the film.
Films must be made and delivered in 48 Hours and returned to Exeter Phoenix by 7pm Sun 8 Nov.
And if the films are delivered within the 48 hour deadline they ‘will have the chance to be screened at the opening night of Two Short Nights Festival 2015 and are eligible for two festival awards’.
No previous film experience needed, just a good imagination and a camera, says the blurb.
To take part, and we recommend you do, you need to sign up by Wednesday, November 4, 2015, and that’s an easy click or two away. Here’s the link to follow for more and lead to the registration page.
