Luke Hagan’s debut feature All in the Valley bagged him a Best Feature Film prize at the Cornwall Film Festival. Now you can sample the Western-style story set in Cornwall for yourself -it’s online to buy or rent.
All in the Valley follows Joseph Ballam, who returns from the Crimean War in a rather destitute, hopeless state. He’s given an opportunity to emigrate to Van Dieman’s Land in exchange for hunting down a dangerous gang of thieves.
The similarity between narratives of Cornwall’s history and the themes of the American Western soon became apparent to the filmmakers and the sense for All in the Valley was born.
That was combined with making the most of look and feel of Cornwall’s beautiful and dramatic landscape to create a character in its own right.
To settle back and enjoy All in the Valley for yourself, just pop over to the vhx site. It’s just $2.99 to rent or $9.99 to buy.
