The Chagford Film Festival has announced two big names for 2015. Renowned filmmaker Kevin MacDonald, director of The Eagle, Last King of Scotland, State of Play and Touching the Void has confirmed his attendance, and Michael Murpurgo famous writer of The War Horse and When the Whales Came will also be there.
The annual festival on beautiful Dartmoor is bursting with talent and star quality and as Gareth Unwin, Oscar winning director of the Kings Speech once said: ‘This is the best little film festival I have ever attended.’
The festival is exceedingly proud of its exceptional list of patrons that includes three Oscar winners, film actors, producers, directors, writers and industry professionals.
Neil Tappenden from Visit Chagford, the town’s destination marketing organization, said: ‘Chagford Film Festival brings the glamour of Hollywood to Dartmoor and is a great reason to visit with an exciting mix of films, brilliant events and workshops, presented by top industry professionals.’
The film programme will, as always, include a roster of recent film releases, thrillers, documentaries, unique harp composition to silent films, foreign language, mainstream, arthouse, British independent and classic films as well a particular section on ‘kitchen sink’ specials.
The Chagford Film Festival is the ideal time to enjoy Chagford on beautiful Dartmoor.
Visitors can choose from a range of top quality accommodation, amazing places to eat, and discover beautiful independent shops to browse and buy. Chagford is a real haven for writers, artists and creative types and buzzes with excitement throughout the week long festival.
The Chagford Film Festival takes place from September 21 to September 26, 2015.
