Actor and director James Cotter is taking the helm of a short film to be shot in Exeter over the summer, and he’s looking for actors to fill the roles.
‪The film is called Delays Imminent ‬and is ‪written by ‬Joshua Merritt a Guardian-mentioned writer/filmmaker, who has written for the BFI and made films as part of the Barbican Young Filmmakers.
Director James -whose list of film appearances is as long as your arm, including World War Z, The Sweeney, Borley Rectory, Skins and Kennedy’s Suicide Bomber) -told D&CFilm: “Our story loiters on the reacquaintance of old friends who happen upon one another after years apart.
“Alexander, who yearns for adventure and life, to explore and travel, but has been hurt by traumatic experiences and stunted in his growth, allowing himself to suffer in silence by dwelling on regrets and missed opportunities of the past.
“And Sarah, who is doing all these things and living her life the way Alexander would like to, offers hope and love: two things he has been sorely neglected of for some time. She unwittingly helps Alexander rediscover himself, but also reminds him of the things that hurt and scare him most. But she has a train to catch.”
The roles are:
Alexander’s Father – Male 40ish
Alexander – Male Late teens/early twenties
Sarah – Female Late teens/early twenties (acoustic guitar player)
Platform Announcer – Voice Over role only
