A Dark Tale, a film which brought tighter a host of creative talents from across the South West, is due to go online for all to see.
The film is the story of Bob Diablo (James Cotter), who has shunned the family undertaking business, much to his father’s annoyance. He is trying to find another career. On the day of his 200th interview a curious incident takes place.
Director/producer John Tomkins was joined by a dedicated team which saw the ambitious short completed.
A Dark Tale was the last movie to be filmed at Oldway Mansion, Paignton, in 2013.
John told D&CFilm: “The scene that was filmed there boasted a large make-up team lead by Sarah Hartley, who did an awesome job of recruiting make up artists from across the South West to get the 30 cast and extras in make-up for the afterlife scene.”
The film has been shown across the UK and has garnered positive reviews.
John’s intention was always to put the film online for free to highlight was great creative talent with have in the South West.
John will be working again with co-screenplay writer of A Dark Tale Tom Menary, and is starting work on a script for a much bigger sequel called A Dark Tale: Rowena Ghoul in 2015, for filming in 2016 via a kick-starter campaign.
The film will be a feature, promises to be much broader in scope and will have cameo appearances for some of the characters from A Dark Tale.
