Short crime thriller A Fool$ Game, to be shot in South Devon, is looking for cast and crew.
The film is about a drug deal gone wrong, where $1 million is stolen by a chancer, who is then pursued by both buyers an dealers intent on reclaiming the cash. The main themes are greed, getting something for nothing and what people will do to achieve this. It’s a community film, partly funded by a small grant from the Buckfastleigh town council.
Filming will take place in Buckfastleigh and Totnes over the summer. Once completed there will be a screening at the Buckfastleigh town hall towards the end of the year.
The film will then be sent to film festivals around the world.
Edward Sillence is the writer/director/prodcuer, and he is in the earliest days of setting up Independent film production company, Zanifare, one of the main aims is to bring feature length productions to the area.
A Fool$ Game is Zanifare’s first production, which will be used to help gain funding and attention (from festivals) to produce the first feature, which is planned for 2015.
CAST:

CREW:
Boom operator/sound recordist: experience isn’t required, but would be useful. All equipment will be provided.
Filming will take place mostly at weekends and possible some evenings, there will be some early morning filming to avoid the possibility of passersby/dog walkers getting in the shot or causing a disruption. The shooting schedule will be announced when fully cast and crewed, there will be some flexibility in the dates and times for the main players.
Locations have been confirmed, dates and times will be arranged with the main cast members. Obviously exterior shoots will be at the mercy of the weather, decisions will be made early if rain seems a possibility. Filming will begin in July and finish towards the end of September, as there may need to be a break in August for people to go on holiday.
“This is a very exciting thriller in a style similar to the Coen brothers/Chris Nolan/Alfred Hitchcock, which will give people the opportunity and experience of both taking part in a local production and being involved in the creation of an independent film that will hopefully earn them IMDB credits,” said Edward.
Payment is expenses only, and to apply you need to be over 18.
