Colourburn’s Summer Film School is creating the short film The Squeakening, an educational film project for 8-12 year olds and is in need of crew to help make the child-friendly vision come to life.
Positions of Hair & Make Up / Costume; Sound Recordist and Sound Designer/ Composer are all required (psst, and they’re all paid positions too).
As the Squeakening is part of an educational project, experience of working with children and having an active CRB check would be preferred for each position.
For the creature effects role (Hair & Make Up), you’ll need to be able to to create effects for a full blown Were-Hamster and children who are sprouting hair and showing signs of a terrible transformation.
Being willing and able to run a workshop for children would be an advantage. You would need to help create an adult Were-Hamster and be responsible for creating stages of were-hamster mutation for children. The children’s make up would have to be quick and easy to apply but you could go to town on the adult Were-Hamster. It is likely that you would also be involved in the creating the costume for the Were-Hamster.
The Sound Recordist would need to record production sound and help the children to do the same, and being willing and able to run a workshop for children would be an advantage.
And they are also looking for a Sound Designer/Composer to create the sound scape for the comedy- horror film. The film will be edited in Adobe Premier.
The shoot will be Monday, July 28 to Friday, August 1 in Bampford Speke, nr Exeter in Devon, UK.
