The Barn Cinema at Dartington has new even comfier seats, and to celebrate its offer people the chance to win an Annual Cinema pass -that’s four free adult standard tickets per month for 12 months!
All you have to do is let Dartington staff take a photo of you trying out the comfort of the new Barn Cinema seat when the seat is on tour at the Totnes Bookshop on Friday, April 4 from 9.30am to 4pm.
The photo will then be entered into the cinema’s Hall of Fame on its Facebook page. The best ‘happy face‘ and film quote will be open to a public vote, the winner of which will be awarded an Annual Cinema Pass and a copy of 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die, courtesy of Totnes Bookshop.
Here’s some more info about the sites: the new seats, fitted at the beginning of April, are wider and have more padding. They’ll increase the comfort of cinema-goers enjoying the programme of block-busters, art-house, world, live and children’s cinema on offer seven days a week at the Barn.
Jim Whittle, cinema manager said: ‘Our old seats have given sterling service since the Barn became a full-time independent cinema in 1996, but our customers now expect more comfort so it’s time to upgrade our seats. The new seats complete the improvement of our facilities over the last two years alongside our state-of-the-art digital projection with 3D capability and 7.1 surround sound.’
Be the first to try out try out the seats in their natural home in the Barn Cinema later that day for screenings of A Long Way Down at 5pm and Starred Up at 8pm on 4 April. Coming up soon at the Barn is King Lear, Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, live from the National Theatre; Noah; Starred Up; A Long Way Down; Muppets Most Wanted and the Glyndebourne Festival.
