Working Title Films is one of the world’s leading film production companies in the world, with 10 Oscars under its belt. But you know all about Working Title, or should, or else you wouldn’t be reading this about Working Title Films internships programme at its London offices.
Action! (that’s the name of the intern scheme) offers bursaries of £15,000 to successful candidates.
So not only do you get to work for one of the top firms in the industry, you get a bit of cash in your pocket to help. Plus, if you live outside London ‘additional discretionary funds may be available to help with your relocation costs’.
And ‘reasonable, pre-approved travel expenses to and from London for the selection process will be reimbursed’!
Cor, this sounds like a dream employer from a world before zero-hours contracts, non-paid internships and apprenticeships whose sole purpose is to reduce the unemployment figures to provide extra hands to the private sector at no extra cost. And this means the Working Title Films internship Action! is more open to every talented applicant, not just the monied ones. But we digress.
Here’s what they say:
Working Title Films’ Action! Programme invites outstanding individuals starting out in search of a career in film to apply for one-year internship positions with our London office. We are looking for hard working and resourceful candidates, able to demonstrate the ambition and drive necessary to make the most of this unique opportunity. Successful applicants will have basic office experience, be able to express themselves with excellent verbal and written communication skills and possess a passion for the development and production of films.
Why aim for Action! 14? Basically, it will improve your opportunities for a career in film, say the Working Title Films internship people. Here are their three points:
- First hand knowledge of how an international production company operates.
- Exposure to the development and production process from the first idea to the big screen.
- A range of industry contacts and help with future opportunities
Don’t wait till the last minute (no really don’t, it’s on the How to Apply page), check out the Action! How to Apply page, and get your application in. Closing date is, February 17, 2014, but you’ll get yours in way before then, right?
