Halloween special: 2 of the finest films to feature chainsaws
As a Halloween special, the Mondo Monday people at Plymouth Arts Centre are bringing you ‘two of the finest films to ever feature chainsaws!’
These films are, of course, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Tucker and Dale Versus Evil
Texas Chain Saw Massacre, still holds up, thanks largely to how wonderfully it was shot. And in the worlds of the Mondos it’s ‘shearing your nerves after all these years and every single bit as good as you remember it, back when you could only get it on a fuzzy ol’ VHS tape.’ And they call it ‘cinema cranked up to 11 till your teeth rattle’.

Thank you for reading. We could do with your help to keep going. All our content is free... But if you can, you can support us to continue bringing you this coverage, these articles, interviews and reviews. This connection with real indie filmmakers.
It's here we encourage you to get out, watch indie films, support crowdfunders, go to your local venue.
And if you can, Pay What You Can to keep all this going. From £1 a week - £4 a month - a fiver, or whatever you can spare. Much appreciated.
And as for Tucker and Dale vs Evil, ‘there are chainsaws, screaming, running, guts n’ gore, but it’s really funny. It is!’
The Mondo Monday Halloween special takes place on Monday, October 28, at 6pm. Tickets are £6.50.
