Professional actors are being called for a new film project, which goes by the working title of Indian Summer, to be shot in North Devon.
The film is a heart-warming comedy about a young Devon boy, Jonny, who through circumstance, acts as tour guide to Rhia, a pretty British-Indian girl who’s just moved from the city. With underlying themes of blossoming romance, self-discovery, racism and political correctness it pokes fun at all four along the way.

CHARACTERS
JONNY -Lead
Male Caucasian. Aged 13 + but needs to pass as an 11 year old.
Jonny is a cheeky, mischievous, country boy that loves Jonny Wilkinson and is very proud of his county, North Devon. A Just William character.
RHIA -Lead
Female, British Indian. Aged 13 + but needs to pass as an 11 year old.
Rhia is a quiet city girl that loves Bollywood and has never lived in the countryside where she finds she doesn’t fit in.
ANIL, RHIA’S FATHER -supporting lead
Male, British Indian. Aged 35 -50 years
Anil is a Doctor who has recently taken a job in a small country surgery. He has moved his family from the city in the hope of a better lifestyle. They are the first Indian family to have moved to the area.
SUNITA, RHIA’S MOTHER -supporting artist
Female, British Indian. Aged 30 -40 years
Sunita is a very pretty woman who is a devoted wife and loving mother. Her daughter is going through a difficult transition period and she doesn’t know how to communicate with her.
WILLIAM -supporting lead
Male Caucasian. Aged 13 + but needs to pass as an 11 year old.
William is Jonny’s best friend and is local to the area of North Devon. He has Scottish heritage that Jonny is always using against him in their war games. He is a good tree climber and loves history.
HARRY -supporting lead
Male Caucasian. Aged 7 -9 years.
Harry is Jonny’s younger brother. He admires him greatly and is always by his side. Jonny counts on Harry to support him in his money-making schemes and be his ally during their war games against William. He is a very quiet young boy and always eating.
THOMAS -supporting artist
