Cast and crew call for Gothic comedy
Torbay movie machine John Tomkins is at it again and all set to make a new movie set in a and around The Bay, and he’s after a cast.
John’s latest film They’re Coming premiered to a full house in September 2012 at the Merlin Cinema, Torquay.
“Last year was a blast for me making They’re Coming’ with a great group of actors and crew from across Devon,” said John. “Now with that film premiered and off to the festivals around the world in 2013 (five at last count) it’s time to move on to the next film.
“I’ve always been a fan of Tim Burton and wanted to make a short film inspired by him,” said John.
“On They’re Coming I met an actor called James Cotter. And I fashioned a movie around him called A Dark Tale about the day in the life of Bob Diablo who has shunned his dad’s firm of undertaking and beauty therapy, and is looking for another job. On the way to an interview something deadly happens”
For this gothic comedy John is looking for actors to play Bob’s family and some rather dead people, canned crew to help on the film.
Auditions will take place at Paignton Library 10am to 2pm on January 26 and Exeter City Gate Hotel from 3pm to 6pm on January 27.
Filming starts February 16, 2013, and we’re intriguingly informed a major location in Paignton has been secured for filming (pst we reckon it’s Oldway Mansion).
