Dark Shadows, the latest collaboration between Tim Burton and Johnny Depp hasn’t had the best of receptions, although it’s sure to keep the most ardent of the pair’s fans happy.
The story is based on a 60s/70s TV show, which didn’t quite make it to these shores, but it’s that connection to the old show with one eye on a new audience that has been the film’s downfall in the eyes of the critics.
D&CFilm’s Sean Wilson said: “Burton has no idea who his film is aimed at: those fans of the TV series who want the campy material played straight, or those who couldn’t care less and just want a bit of comedy?”
Take a gander at the trailer, and decide for yourself. The film is at the Dartington Barn from Friday, June 1 to Thursday, June 7
