Directing change at Cornwall Film Festival

A new festival director has been appointed for the Cornwall Film Festival, scheduled to take place at the at the Lighthouse Cinema in Newquay, between November 8 and 11.
After working alongside director Donna Anton for the past three years as her assistant and as festival manager, Tiffany Holmes has now been promoted to take on the role of director.
The decision by the festival’s board of trustees to promote Tiffany to this position came following the resignation of Donna, who said: “I was looking forward to a fourth turn as director of the Festival, but health concerns -which I hope are temporary -have forced me to step back this year.’
Dorian Spackman, the chair of the trustees, said: “We’re delighted that Tiff has agreed to carry on the good work put in in partnership with Donna Anton over the last three years and look forward very much to continuing to grow the festival in 2012.”

Donna and Tiffany created the longest period of continuity for the Cornwall Film Festival since it first began and have helped to grow the festival significantly, increasing ticket sales by nearly 40% with the move to Newquay in 2011.
‘While I am obviously extremely sad that Donna has had to leave,’ said Tiffany, ‘I am determined that the festival will not suffer from her loss and will work with the festival steering group to ensure the festival continues to showcase Cornwall’s outstanding filmmaking talent, as well as bringing the best in UK and international Cinema to Cornwall this November.’
