The Cornwall Film Festival has a track record of sell-out advance screenings, what with its screenings of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trilogy in 2009 and 2010. Now the CFF is presenting a special preview of Scandinavia’s newest noir offering, Headhunters, at the Plaza Cinema in Truro next week.
Headhunters is the first screen adaptation of the critically acclaimed novel by Jo Nesbø -who is at the forefront of the current swathe of Nordic writers leading the way in challenging new crime fiction.
Described in Sight & Sound as a ‘satisfyingly complex, thrilling and distinctive crowd-pleaser’, Headhunters tells the tale of Roger Brown, a high-flying corporate headhunter who attempts to keep his wife in the manner to which she has become accustomed by dabbling in art-theft. But best-laid plans often go awry, and Headhunters soon descends into a murky tale of murder and conspiracy.
Already garnering rave reviews this ‘spectacular cinematic thrill-ride that may well be the thriller of the year’ will be screening for audiences in Cornwall three weeks before its UK release!
FEAST is sponsoring this Cornwall Film Festival screening of Headhunters at the Plaza Cinema in Truro on Thursday 22nd March at 6pm. Tickets are available from the WTW Cinemas site or on 01872 272894.
