Filmmakers in Cornwall and beyond are reminded that the deadline for the 10th annual Cornwall Film Festival call for entries is 6pm on Monday, August 1.
Ten short-film categories in a wide range of genres offer awards that include cash or filmmaking equipment. New categories include Wild About Cornwall (wildlife), Reel Women (female-directed), Eye-Toons (animation) and Xtreme Shorts (extreme sports), plus an expanded student-film category, Decent Exposure, with a £1,000 cash award.
The final entry deadline for both Board Shorts surf films and Xtreme Shorts has been extended until September 1. The best entries from these two categories will be screened at the festival’s Board Shorts short-surf-film fest on Saturday, September 24, at Lusty Glaze beach in Newquay.
The Cornwall Film Festival will take place 4-6 November 4-6 at the new Lighthouse Cinema in Newquay.
