An empty space is needed to house the main film set for an animated short, which is being filmed in the Exeter area.
The Grobler is a part animation, part live-action, fantasy short, funded by the Exeter Phoenix Bursary. The film is essentially a dark fable, told by an old man to his grandchild, to deter him from entering the gloomy forest alone, complete with tree goblins, forest bugs, and grab happy branches.
The “fable” section of the film will be stop-motion animated, but using full scale sets and real actors, creating a unique blend of the organic, rickety, aesthetic capturing the traditional stop-motion feel while being able to tap into real human emotion.
Director Jed Hart said: “We are in need of an empty space where we can build our main set and film for a couple of weeks in August. All we need is a large enough space with a roof, four walls and access to power. We would cover any electricity costs incurred.
