Auditions for John Tomkins’ new action-thriller They’re Coming

They’re Coming: four leads, five supporting and 40 extra roles are up for grabs

Like An Angel director and all-round good egg John Tomkins will be holding casting auditions this month for his new action-thriller, They’re Coming.

Yapping to D&CFilm at the CINE networking event on Saturday, John said the intention is to make ‘a rocking piece of cinema and send the finished picture to a few film festivals as well’.

Shooting this summer in Exeter and Torbay, the flick is about David York whose wife unexpectedly disappears. On the wall of her flat are the letters ‘T.C.’. York goes in search of his missus, helped by her chum Sarah. Needless to say, he should trust no one cos nothing is what it seems, etc etc.

There are four lead roles, five supporting roles, and around 40 extra parts up for grabs. Auditions take place at the Exeter Phoenix Black Box on Saturday, April 16.

  1. After clicking on the ‘They’re Coming’ site. I found the text incredibly hard to read due to the tiny font size. Unfortunately due to the design of the site it’s also impossible to zoom in. Anyone else had problems, or is it just me? :(

    I am a Dartington graduate, who has not acted for a decade or so – having pursued a teaching career.

    I now work at a special school in Torquay and have been looking for a route back in to acting – when I saw your post. I am quite keen to audition on Saturday for a role in youe short film, however I would need to know the sort of time schedule for rehearsals / filming, as I work full time.

    I don’t want to waste anyone’s time

    if you were Successful in a role , rehearsals would be in either evenings or weekends . plus filming would be in the first two weeks of July .

  5. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Sadly the filming bit will be ticky for me, as my school does not break up until the 22nd of July…Such a shame

  8. Hello, i completely missed this but was wondering if there is still chance to be in this? I am 16 years old, do you think that would be possible?
