South Devon filmmakers Realm Pictures have won the public vote in a short film competition run by the Raindance festival and Pepsi Max for a the chance to win a £30,000 towards their next film. Now all they have to do is convince the judges.
If they bag top spot, along with the £30,000 production budget, they’ll get a VIP trip to the Cannes Film Festival and two film screenings at Raindance 2011, including launching the opening night.
The Realm team pulled out all the stops to galvanise the public’s support to win the People’s Choice they set up a Facebook page.
But what we reckon swung it for them was all the smiling faces from the Devon film scene which were included in their film, which follows a bunch of filmmakers through the trails and tribulations of putting together a film called Max, accompanied by music from folk singer Sarah Ruddick.
The film will now by watched by Pepsi ‘Max It’ judging panel including Elliot Grove the founder of The Raindance Film Festival and British Independent Film Awards.
