The opening night of the Exeter Picturehouse after its three-and-a-half week re-fit was a fine affair, though it was a close call to get all in place for the big night, as is usually the case with such projects.
Staff and contractors pulled together to get the cinema ready in time, with the last few touch ups of paint, arranging the new furniture, and restocking shelves.
Food and wine was flowing and the guests were treated to film previews in the new screens with stadium, reclining, and sofa seats available, it’s safe to say all enjoyed the big night.
The cinema is in full swing again, with matinee screenings everyday, and lots of exciting events packed into the upcoming schedule. The cafe/bar’s new regular opening hours from noon-11pm are proving popular with the introduction of its new snack menu, which sold out by the end of the opening weekend.
All in all Exeter seems pleased to have it’s Picturehouse back and even better.
