Paignton filmmaker Ashley Wing (he of Poppies, Hard Day’s Knight, and Between The Lines fame) has got in touch to tell us about an absolutely stonking opportunity for all you talented and arty D+Cineastes out there.
What is the opportunity? Here is the opportunity. (And yes, Ashley does speak in italics.)
We are in search of confident, skilled artists for 3D model work, texture work, compositing, 3D tracking and matte painting on our current short sci-fi drama Fracture.
We’ve been working on this for about nine months, and we’re nearing the end of a very long post session. We still have quite a few shots left so it’s a final push to get the work done on the deadline.
Want to work with a team of artists from around the world? Well, let’s take it one step at a time and start with the synopsis.
On the bleak and unforgiving surface of a distant world a fragile mining base stands isolated, relentlessly battered by brutal storms. Its small crew have known loneliness, love and betrayal in their time there, and in such a claustrophobic environment secrets can’t stay hidden forever.
All artists involved will be offered invites to the UK, London premiere and provided a finished DVD on completion.
Due to the nature of the short being a community project run by Fxhome, work is unpaid, but it does represents an excellent challenge and opportunity for those looking to add to their portfolio and work credential.
In-bloody-deed. If we had any talent whatsoever we’d apply immediately. But how do you apply? Ah, funny you should ask. Send examples of your previous work to wing6704@yahoo.com (mark the subject field ‘Artist – Fracture’).
Stay tuned to D+CFilm over the next few days for more concept art (a posh way of saying ‘lovely pictures’) from Fracture, as well as behind the scenes footage.
