This year’s Chagford Filmmaking Group film is a grippingly scary fairytale from Northumbria about a princess who gets turned into a dragon. The shoot takes place between August 11 and 16, and they are looking for boys and girls between 11 and 15 for roles in the film.
If you’re interested in taking part in the story, which explores love between brother and sister, as well as portraying a powerful rite of passage for the unfortunate princess, get in touch with the fairy-film powerhouse that is Elizabeth-Jane Baldry. Auditions are set to take place on Friday, May 22 between 4pm and 6pm. Email Elizabeth-Jane for more details and to attend.
There is EU funding in place for the group’s following film -an Anglo-Norman fairytale set in King Arthur’s Court.
Elizabeth-Jane told D+CFilm: “We’ll be shooting partly in Brittany and there’ll be exhibitions in Brittany and Devon of the props and costumes alongside paintings inspired by the tale as well as a 52-minute film.”
The award is the bafflingly mystical 79.1% of 58,000 euros.
“At least it’s heart-warming to know that some bureaucrat in Brussels believes in fairies,” said Elizabeth-Jane.
