Ashley Wing’s Poppies picked up the Best Film award from the FXhome 2009 awards.
The film is based on a poem by his father in law, Stephen J Fry, and is the second of Ashley’s Second War War trilogy. It was shot in Exeter and South Devon.
Ashley’s latest film OMG has just been finished and his sci-fi flic Fracture is in post-production. ‘It’s coming along nicely and should be ready for viewing this summer,” he told D+CFilm.
“I’m also co-drafting another short film which we hope to be shooting within the next 12 weeks, script still in development so I can’t give anything away at the moment. It’s very different to anything I’ve done before and I think it’s a good time to be brave and experiment a little.”
This was the inaugural FXhome awards.
