In Maniac Films‘ latest video for Douglas Powell, they made the most of the light, space and vibe of a disused factory space in Barnstaple.
It was a case of finding the space and getting enough light, but there’s something eerie about the setting, too, which can’t be bad for the video to The Ballad of the Roman Road from Douglas’ new album, The Iron Coast.
For the film they used the top floor of the now disused workshop at the Leaderflush and Shapland factory.
Douglas said: “We decided on this location because of the amount of natural light the building gets and because of the massive amount of floor space the disused building had to offer.
“Once the sun went down, even though we had a massive amount of stage lighting, it was a very creepy place to be.”
Sing along but don’t get creeped out.
