The Film Academy, an informal exploration of film, is taking place at the Plymouth Arts Centre at 6pm this evening.
This will be the third in the series, hosted by Dr Song Hwee Lim, and will explore the concept of slowness in cinema using clips from European and World Cinemas. No, really, it’ll be rivetting.
Not least becasue Dr Lim is senior lecturer in Film Studies at Exeter University, and he is author of Celluloid Comrades: Representations of Male Homosexuality in Contemporary Chinese Cinemas; and editor of the Journal of Chinese Cinemas.
The event is free, but we have it on good authority that it’s essential to book (places are limited). Call the box office on 01752 206114 or visit the Plymouth Arts Centre site.
