Film posters, on a cinema, are you mad? Exeter City Council has pointed out how ridiculous it would be to have posters on the city’s Vue cinema by saying they would be “visually intrusive and an unsympathetic addition to the building”.
Of course the city council is right. Why would a cinema want to have a string of nine posters, each a square metre in size to break up the harsh and ugly road-side facade and promote the movies that are showing inside?
A spokesman for the council told the Express and Echo: ‘They would also be a distraction to drivers in an area which is close to a busy roundabout and where pedestrians seek to cross the road by weaving in and out of the traffic. The proposal is therefore considered unacceptable.’
Hear, hear! And while they’re at it maybe they can also deal with the weaving pedestrians.
