Tickets for what has been called ‘longest dedicated animation festival in the UK’, Animated Exeter, which runs from Friday, February 13 to Saturday, February 21, go on sale tomorrow (January 3).
This is the 10th year the festival of animation from throughout the world, and could be even more historic as budget constraints continue to cast a doubt over its long-term future (that’s the future after this year, people).
Our cheeky round up covered much of what’s in store, but look out for events at the Exeter Picturehouse and the Barn Cinema, Dartingon. Along with Exhibitions at the Exeter Phoenix, Thelma Hulbert Gallery, Spacex and Exeter Picturehouse. Plus workshops at various venues.
Schools week for the event runs from Monday, February 9 to Friday, February 13, and will include work for the new year-round youth programming group Young+Animated, animated residences with Deveon Art in Schools Initiative (DAISI), and will have its own international film programme.
And throughout the festival there will be a large representation of local animators.
• If you’re an animator in Devon or Cornwall, get in touch and tell us what Animated Exeter means to you.
