Those intergalactic airwaves will be beamed across again for another of the satellite special interview events at he Exeter Picturehouse. Director Danny Boyle, him of Trainspotting and Shallow Grave will be interviewed on screen, followed by preview showing of his new film Slumdog Millionaire on Tuesday, January 6 at 8pm.
Slumdog Millionaireis about Jamal Malik, an 18-year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, who is just one question away from winning 20 million rupees on India’s Who Wants to be a Millionaire. But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating: how could a ‘slumdog’ know so much?
“Based on Vikas Swarup’s bestselling novel, ‘Q&A’, and adapted for the screen by The Full Monty scriptwriter Simon Beaufoy, Slumdog Millionaire is a vibrant, modern love story set and shot in India,” says the press release. After the film there will be an exclusive Q&A with the director.
And you never know, he might even talk about some of his other films, which include A Life Less Ordinary, The Beach, 28 Days Later and Sunshine, for example.
