The View From Here, the week-long celebration of moving image throughout South Devon, begins with the Young People’s screening at 7pm at the Carlton Theatre, Teignmouth, from 7pm.
See what the region’s early film talent can offer, and includes some of the work created through the View From Here workshops, which were carried out throughout South Devon during autumn.
And here’s your chance to see what the younger members of those workshops had to offer, starting from as wee as four years old, at the Family Filmmaking Workshop, which took place at Coombeshead College, Newton Abbot.

• in View, at The Castle Inn, Totnes, the Jolly Farmer, Newton Abbot, and the Blue Walnut cafe, Torquay. A screening of local work in local venues for a relaxed and engaging evening of film. Tuesday, December 2, from 7pm.
• Watching the filmmakers, Darren Jones is in the midst of making a documentary about Jon Tompkins making a feature film. We take a look at Darren’s early documentaries and other work.
• Heavy Load, director Jerry Rothwell presents his award winning documentary at the Alexandra Cinema, Newton Abbot, from 7pm.
• Talent Showcase, some top films with a South Devon connection, plus a chance to meet those working in the sector, with filmmaker Peter Richardson, from 7pm.
