The Manhattan Short Film Festival will be strutting its stuff around the Blue Walnut Cafe, Torquay, from Sunday 21 to Sunday 28 September.
The piccola cinema is one of only two UK venues for the international film festival, which draws entries from all around the world – the 12 finalists include filmmakers from The Netherlands, Australia, America, Israel, Ireland, Denmark, New Zealand, Spain, India and the UK.
The object of the week-long film festival is to unite audiences around the world by inviting them to vote for their favourite short film. The festival takes place in over 150 cities across four continents. The votes are submitted at the end of the festival with the 2008 winner being announced.
Mike Edmonds, owner of the Blue Walnut Café. told D_+CFilm: ‘I am delighted to be hosting the film festival for the third year running. This is the highlight of the year for international cinema. If you haven’t visited The Blue Walnut before, this is the month to do so.’
