The peerless Ain’t It Cool brings news of an ebay auction offering some rather rad Iron Man 2 stuff.
The auction is in aid of Stand Up To Cancer, a groundbreaking movement backed by an innovative approach to cancer research.
Get us drunk and we’ll bore you with our theories about cancer research (‘a cure will never be found cos the drug companies wanna keep us sick, blah blah bloody blah’) but this movement really seems to be on to something.
It aims to trash bureaucratic obstacles and build a ‘Dream Team’ (nothing to do with Michael Keaton) of scientists, clinicians, technicians and others, who’ll focus on a specific cancer problem.
Anyway, the winning moneybags can enjoy a visit to the set of Iron Man 2, a meet and greet with the cast, a walk-on role in the movie and tickets to the Los Angeles premiere.
The good news is you’ve got about a week to scrabble around down the back of the sofa and collect some dosh. The bad news is you’d better be able to find 9,000 pennies – we’ve just been having a look on the site and the bidding is up to $8,600.
Of course, when we say it’s ‘bad news’ we acknowledge that it’s good news for Stand Up To Cancer and ach, you know what we mean. Start your bidding now!
