The hot bed of film activity that is the Chagford film group is smoldering again. Cultural fire-starter Elizabeth-Jane Baldry sent up some smoke signals to keep us up-to-date.
The premier of Cherry of Zennor, the latest of Elizabeth-Jane’s slew of films, is set for autumn, with the news that internationally renown harpist Elizabeth-Jane will score the film herself. You can catch an exhibition of the film’s costumes at Crealey Park, just outside Exeter, from this weekend (April 12-13).
Pre-production of the next film, Peeriefool (shooting between August 3-8) is under way, and Bickleigh Castle looks set for the location.
And there’s also news of cross-Channel collaboration. Elizabeth-Jane told D+CFilm: “The director of the Arthurian Legend Centre in Brittany is coming over to meet us on May 4th. She thinks she can get some European funding to make a film that collaborates with some French artists making props and so on, and subsequent exhibitions of props/costumes in both countries. It’s early days, but it could be exciting.”
Meanwhile, here are some footage of the ‘crazy organ’ from Cherry of Zennor.
