Great news! Tera Toma has been offered a special screening at The View From Here 2009. It has all come a bit short notice, but the venue is booked for next Wednesday (2/12/09) at the Blue Walnut Cafe in Torquay, a venue renowned for showing cinema from the silent era, right through to the present in a cozy 25 seater setting – an audience size that I think will complement the psychological nature of the film.

Now that the production is finished on Tera Toma, the role of this blog has changed. It will still be updated, but it will now be more of a platform to post not only the progress of the film post-shoot, but also the responses that it gets from various audience members and other involved parties. Here is one fantastic response that we have received from an audience member who saw the film during it’s local premiere on the 15th of September at the Exeter Phoenix. It’s in the form of a poem by Anne Sexton. To save space I will keep it to the first stanza.
RUMPELSTILTSKIN
Inside many of us
is a small old man
who wants to get out.
No bigger than two-year-old
whom you’d call lamb chop
yet this one is old and malformed.
His head is okay
but the rest of him wasn’t Sanforized.
He is a monster of despair.
He is all decay.
He speaks up as tiny as an earphone
with Truman’s asexual voice:
I am your dwarf.
I am the enemy within.
I am the boss of your dreams.
No. I am not the law in your mind,
the grandfather of watchfulness.
I am the law of your members,
the kindred of blackness and impulse.
See. Your hand shakes.
It is not palsy or booze.
It is your Doppelganger.

Harry has posted some more behind the scenes stuff from the Tera Toma production. Stuff he shot on his phone. Have a look. It’s nice to see the conversations between people and part of the process. Plus, he’s got a great sense of humour… and it’s great to see that people were having a laugh as well as working hard.

Hey all,
Hopefully I will have a Tera Toma trailer sorted for the end of the week. But just to whet your appetite, I have collected all of the videos that the cast and crew have produced to date and made a channel on Vimeo for the project. This is eventually where you will be able to find the trailer as well as a definitive making of doc and the final film.

Dear Chums in Exeter and fans of Tera Toma worldwide, I’ve just arrived back in Cologne after a dashed super trip home. Was eyed suspiciously by the in-flight attendant. Was it because of my reliving intense experiences from the set of my favourite real-time movie? Make up your own minds. In truth, I was dreaming a little dream of you all. Okay, the resultant rapid-fire expletives may have given cause for concern but hey, that’s showbiz. Anyone else had any strange post-Toma moments? Yes, Pip, I know all about you… and I’m not even going consider what’s going on in Kiwi James’ head. Well, maybe just for a moment … gurgle, gurgle.
So, thanks aplenty to you all for making me feel so jolly welcome and a special thanks to Sue and Stu, Pip and Josh for their marvellous hospitality. I told my mum it was a pleasure to be part of such a harmonious cast and crew. So there.

As the final cut has been exporting for tomorrow’s screening, I’ve been putting little left over bits of interview together for this site. Here’s one filmed immediately after finishing James’ performance on Thursday night. Notice how the lens fogs up w/ all three of us in the room after such an intense experience.
