Documentary filmmakers have the chance for a masterclass with two top industry professionals during the View from Here film festival, and get their film ideas up to a point to pitch for cash The Manhattan Short Film Festival is set to return to the fabled Blue Walnut Cinema, Torquay, with the 24-seat venue joining the Curzon Soho, London, and the Tyneside Cinema, Newcastle, as the only three venues that are screening the films in the UK. The Spacex gallery in Exeter is calling for artist filmmakers to submit films to its open film screening night on Thursday, September 3 at 7pm. Rome and Juliet, Some Like it Hot, Slumdog Millionaire and Persepolis, which was in the 2009 Animated Exeter, are planned to be part of next bumper season of screenings at Topsham Film Society.
