It may only be June 9, but if you’ve been looking to submit your film to international festivals, then you’ve already missed the deadline for 13 already this month. To make sure you don’t miss out on any more opportunities, check out the D+CFilm social network for the ongoing monthly updates for film festival deadlines. If you fancy dipping your toe into the Lottery Funding pie, then you’ve got until April 16 to get your pre-application form in. The artistic juggernaut that is the Joy Collective is looking for short films made by emerging South West-based artists that deal with one or more of the four natural elements – wind, water, earth, and fire. Apparently it’s the European Union’s Year of Creativity and Innovation and you’re going to need every ounce of that to win the €3,000 on offer for a film about European Entrepreneurship, which, given the current, economic situation, seems a bit of a hollow theme. Then, again, given the current economic situation, €3,000 is nothing to [...] Alex White’s short film In the Garden of Terrible Delights was premiered Kinky and Quirky’s burlesque Valentine’s Day bash in Exeter, on… er… Valentine’s Day.
