If you fancy dipping your toe into the Lottery Funding pie, then you’ve got until April 16 to get your pre-application form in. The artistic juggernaut that is the Joy Collective is looking for short films made by emerging South West-based artists that deal with one or more of the four natural elements – wind, water, earth, and fire. Apparently it’s the European Union’s Year of Creativity and Innovation and you’re going to need every ounce of that to win the €3,000 on offer for a film about European Entrepreneurship, which, given the current, economic situation, seems a bit of a hollow theme. Then, again, given the current economic situation, €3,000 is nothing Bebo, Mediabox and the Daily Mirror are looking for inspirational young filmmakers so they can give them a grant, all-expenses paid workshops and the chance to be mentored by top industry professionals before seeing their films on TV and online.
