Torquay – a film based in Torquay – is calling for actors to apply for auditions at the Exeter Phoenix in March [...] Big Screen in the Park is taking place in the Northernhay Gardens again this year, when the open air summer cinema screenings begin on Wednesday, August 12. There’s £1,000 up for grabs for filmmakers who can find an innovative way to showing climate change. James Marsh from Truro, picked up an Oscar for his documentary Man on Wire. The day kicks off with a lecture about the Berlinale Co-Production market. Described as a facility for putting together financiers and filmmakers, this is something that you apply for before the festival and it sets up two days of meetings about your project. I manage to start up an email dialogue with a London-based company about the film. Sadly, they’re predominantly involved in sales, but they seem interested and at least I can get some advice from them for later down the line. My Attorney advises me over breakfast that I misspelt the word Attorney quite horrifically yesterday and spends several minutes playing Eternal from Youtube on his laptop. Embarrassing in many ways. |
