Be my fest (video)

We’re so good at wittering on about other people’s film festivals, that we’ve neglected to bug you about our own film festivals.

We’ve decided it’s high time we started blowing our own trumpet for a change, so here’s all the D+CFilm festival news in a handy ‘cut out and keep’ format.

First up, is The View From Here, running from November 26 to December 1 in Teignbridge and South Devon.

It’s set to feature a showing of the Donald Crowhurst documentary Deep Water, youth-led Village Screen screenings, a pub crawl and a top-class gala event for all those involved in the region’s meedja. Oh yes!

Sounds good, doesn’t it?! Click here for more details and to find out how to
get involved.

Then, on December 6 and 7, there’s Two Short Nights at the Exeter Phoenix, which will feature our lovely Free Cinema event, incorporating D+CFree.

Regular readers will remember D+CFree is our short documentary compo, giving local lensers the chance to pick up a camera and document life as it is today in Devon and Cornwall.

The event will also include a discussion on Free Cinema led by Christophe Dupin, who produced the BFI Free Cinema compilation, and be chaired by Dan Paolantonio, film lecturer at Plymouth College of Art and Design.

Sounds good as well, doesn’t it?! Click here for more details and to find out how to get involved.

So, there you go. We think we’ve covered just about everything but if you have any questions, email them to info@dandcfilm.co.uk or simply leave a puzzled comment below.

In the meantime, here’s the trailer for Deep Water. We’re sure our View From Here screening will really make a splash with film fans. Meh!
