Brights sparks don’t just get their head filled with political news – some of them are able to create cracking films in just 48 hours.
This short flick was the winner of the Two Short Nights 2016 48 Hour Film Challenge and manages to be both satirical comment, dangerous omen and tale of heroic loss… kinda… all within just two minutes.
The film is from the creative team of Luke Hagan, Corina Skerrit and Kate Hagan, who have a track record of making highly engaging films on the fly for the 48 hour fun challenge. Hardly surprising given the usual standard of their filmmaking.
Little Billy Matches also spawned memorabilia as the character featured in the arts vending machine at the Exeter Phoenix. Not bad for a concept that was bounded by limitations, not least in production time.
The 48 Hour Film Challenge is part of Two Short Nights at the Exeter Phoenix. Keep your eyes peeled for this year’s dates, and check out the submission deadlines (pst, you’ve just missed the early bird, but the regular deadline is June 30).
