Whether you’ve got a great script that you just haven’t written, or fancy injecting bit of something else in your writing – there’s an introduction to scriptwriting day workshop at the Exeter Phoenix.
We’ve heard good things about the tutor Lucy V Hay, but why listen to our word-of-mouth when she’s got this sort of blurb:
“Lucy V Hay is an author, script editor and blogger who supports writers.
She is the associate producer of Brit thrillers Deviation (2012) and Assassin (2015) and has been a script reader for 15 years for screen agencies, investment companies, screenwriting competitions, London Screenwriters’ Festival and individual writers, producers and filmmakers.
“Her writing and networking tips blog Bang2write was recently voted Feedspot’s number one Screenwriting blog in the UK and ninth in the world.
“B2W was also a finalist in the UK Blog Awards 2017.”
With credentials like that you should be making a b-line to put your name down for the day workshop from 10am to 5pm on Friday, March 9.
If you need more convincing (it is £60 – or £50 for concessions), then explore the tips on her Bang2write, but there will be a time when you need someone else’s eyes on your hard work.
As the course details say, ‘This intensive one-day course is designed for those new to scriptwriting or experienced scriptwriters looking to push their work to a professional level.
‘You will be introduced to the basic elements and key concepts to be expected from a professional screenplay. Looking a common vocabulary used when developing screenplays, script analysis and usual exercises based on your own story ideas.
‘Any writers who already have treatments or script written would be encouraged to bring these along to the session.’
