MicroLights is a new scheme for future film talent from across South West to get hands-on experience with microbudget feature films.
They are currently looking for two committed newomers – a production trainee and an edit trainee – to work and learn alongside iFeatures film teams in Bristol. Trainees get an eight-week paid work placement, professional training, mentoring from experienced filmmakers and career development advice.
Before you apply, the MicroLights people advise you to read the Trainee Role, FAQs and their top tips on getting in. Then get your CV ready and follow the instructions on the application form. They also want you to submit a monitoring form with your application.
If you applied to MicroLights before but weren’t successful, you may try again. Make sure you use the latest application form available above.
Further opportunities will be available for aspiring Camera and Sound trainees later in January – watch this space! Please don’t apply for these grades until advertised as your application will not be considered.
They will also be offering 15 free places at a MicroLights workshop Taking Off – Launching Your Career in Film.
