Talented filmmakers wanted to document development on historic site

The Coast Group are developing he former Rickham Coastguard Station and Lookout

A talented film student is being sought to make a film record of the development of the former Rickham Coastguard Station and Lookout where the old Gara Rock Hotel used to sit on the South West Coastal path.

The site is set to be developed into luxury holiday accommodation, and the developers (Coast Group) are keen to capture key moments – such as the arrival of heavy goods vehicles and equipment, such as the piling rig, ready mix lorries, mobile restaurant and the delivery of the timber frames.

The filmmaker would also be called on to capture the key characters in the Devon construction team, head office in London, the architects, interior designers, structural engineers and so on.

The developers are looking for a student who is prepared to travel to Gara Rock over the next six months from time-to-time and record the progress. They will be given the key dates when specific changes take place. They will pocket travel expenses and a daily rate (to be determined).

If you would like to apply for this job email Ian McNeice ianmcneice@mac.com and include a CV and any film experiences that you may have had.

The successful applicant must have their own equipment and their own transport.

Applications should get in touch as soon as possible, with a casual start of the project planned for late next week (weekending Sunday, March 14).
