According to The Sun, Johnny Depp will be in Cornwall to film the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
St Ives has been tipped as the venue for the film that is due to be filed in 2011, although the whole county coastline could be included in the movies that will be directed by Chicago filmmaker Rob Marshall (although, there were whispers once upon a time that Tim Burton would take over the helm of the franchise).
Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, which stars Johnny Depp, is currently doing the rounds, and rumours are constantly flying that Johnny has a home in Devon or Somerset, so he’d be familiar with the South West.
Also according to the report Penelope Cruz will star in the movie, while former co-stars Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly won’t make a reappearance.
Great! Like St Ives needs to be any busier this summertime…

Oo this is interesting, there has always been gossip about Johhny Depp being around the sout of England. I live in Dorset, and someone said his children go to school in wimborne, but am not sure about that as they are supposed to be living in france.
Would love to be aprt of this film if they are holding open auditions for it, would travel to st. ives. Even to be an extra. Please let know if anyone knows :D
Johnny Depp has a home in Rock. My mum had a work client that lived close to him.
Can’t wait for this Summer if St Ives is Confirmed. Gonna be difficult to clear an area with tourists about though?
I know someone who works on the pirates of the carribean films and they’ve said that they’re unlikely to go to St. Ives.

I Don`t know how hes got the nerve to show his face after that incident with Jonathon Ross and Andrew Sachs.
Theres nowhere in st ives that would be suitable for filming ,there are two locations where filming will take place ,the only one I know for sure is Hayle(possibly the most beautifull beach in britain) and the other I actually forgot the name of but its a lot further up the coast.
