Alice in Wonderland 'extras-only' party screening date set at Plymouth Reel cinema

Helena Bonham Carter in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

Some 200 extras from the shooting of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland at Antony House, Torpoint have been invited to Plymouth’s Reel Cinema for a special screening of the film.

Ashley Willis of Plymouth’s Reel Cinema told thisisplymouth: “We hope to make it a special occasion and will be rolling out the red carpet.

“We are encouraging everyone to dress-up in Alice outfits or formal wear and our staff will also be getting involved. We like any excuse to have a bit of fun.”

The date for the event is Monday, March 8 – although there had been attempts to screen it on the same night as the London Royal Premiere on February 25, but according to the report ‘Disney decided against the idea, mainly because the cinema does not have the technology to show it in 3D’.

To get your name on the list email plymouth@reelcinemas.co.uk or call The Plymouth Reel cinema on 01752 225553 after 5pm. (All names will have to match up with those on the cast list provided by Disney.)

Meanwhile, Odeon, Vue and Cineworld may refuse to distribute the film over the speed Disney plans to send the movie to DVD
