Five Tips on Getting your Script Written from Ashley Wing and Clayton Fussell

Writing can be a personal thing, but for the DC duo (that’s Devon and Cornwall) of Ashley Wing and Clayton Fussell, it’s a collaborative process. Here’s their five tips on getting their script written

Ashley Wing and Clayton Fussell’s Five Tips on Getting your Script Written
1.    Just write stuff. Never stop writing even if it’s just sentences, single scenes, bits of unconnected dialogue. Just keep writing, always.
2.    Never censor yourself when you write, especially at the beginning. Once you have the bare bones of the story then you can start cutting stuff.
3.    Write as little dialogue as possible. If you can make your film without a word being said, that is a good thing.
4.    When you’re in the drafting phase be brutal. Nothing should be sacred. If there is no reason for something in the script then cut it, even if you love it.
5.    Get as much honest feedback as possible. The truth can hurt, but it’s better to hear it at this stage than after the film is made and you’ve spend loads of money, time and energy on something that was basically flawed at its conception.
